Description
Low Temperature Underfloor Heating Blending Valve – UFH Mixing Valve
The Low Temperature Underfloor Heating Blending Valve is designed to provide controlled water temperature for wet underfloor heating systems. It mixes hotter primary water from the heating system with cooler return water from the UFH circuits, helping to maintain a suitable flow temperature before the water enters the underfloor heating manifold.
Designed specifically for low-temperature water underfloor heating, this thermostatic mixing valve provides stable temperature regulation while helping protect the floor construction and UFH system from excessively high flow temperatures.
Its compact and reversible design makes it suitable for a wide range of residential and commercial underfloor heating installations.
Key Features
Low Temperature UFH Control – Designed to regulate the water temperature supplied to wet underfloor heating systems.
Thermostatic Mixing Control – Automatically blends hotter primary water with cooler return water to provide a controlled UFH flow temperature.
Helps Prevent Overheating – Controlled water temperature helps protect the underfloor heating system and floor construction from excessive heat.
Stable Temperature Regulation – Thermostatic operation helps maintain a consistent mixed-water temperature.
Compact Design – Requires minimal installation space, making it suitable for compact UFH manifold and pump arrangements.
Reversible Body – Can be configured for left- or right-hand installation, providing greater flexibility during installation.
Self-Sealing Connections – Designed to simplify installation and reduce the risk of leaks.
How Does an Underfloor Heating Blending Valve Work?
Water underfloor heating generally operates at a lower flow temperature than conventional radiator systems.
The UFH blending valve mixes hotter water from the primary heating circuit with cooler return water from the underfloor heating system. This produces a controlled mixed-water temperature before the water is circulated through the manifold and individual UFH pipe loops.
Maintaining an appropriate flow temperature can help prevent floor overheating while providing comfortable and efficient heat distribution.
Why Use a Low Temperature Blending Valve?
A dedicated low temperature blending valve is particularly useful when the primary heating system operates at a higher temperature than required by the underfloor heating circuits.
Using thermostatic mixing control can help:
- Maintain an appropriate UFH flow temperature
- Prevent excessively hot water entering the UFH circuits
- Protect the floor construction
- Maintain consistent system performance
- Improve comfort throughout the heated area
The final operating temperature should be set during installation and commissioning according to the UFH design, floor construction and heat source.
